Speaker 1:

Good afternoon Ginger Adventurers. So it's been a week since I started my podcast and, for those of you that are new here, I wanted to kind of reintroduce myself and tell a little bit more about myself. So my name is Ginger, I live in the Midwest and I am an art teacher by day and a teen librarian by night. By day and a teen librarian by night. I love anime. My favorite is One Piece hands down, which is the anime that I'm currently reviewing on my podcast. I also am a Christian, and I really love doing daily devotions, and so I've been sharing devotions from the website odborg, our Daily Bread. They're pretty short, super sweet, have a scripture attached to them and I basically summarize those and answer the questions at the end, and I think they've been turning out really fantastically.

Speaker 1:

Other things about me I absolutely love being outside. There is nothing better than when it just starts getting warm outside. The smell of fresh air is just amazing to me. I love hiking, I love camping. I love cooking over an open fire.

Speaker 1:

I grew up being outdoors, doing things outside my whole childhood. One of my favorite places is Minnesota, lake Waubona, minnesota. My uncle had a cabin there. We would go fishing, we would go tubing. I'm not sure if you guys know what that is, but my uncle would have this inner tube tied behind his boat and we'd be inside of it and then he would take off in the boat. It was great, one of the best childhood memories ever. I also adore ballet. Wanted to be a ballerina. My entire life Didn't really have a chance to take ballet. I did, though, end up putting my children in ballet, and my middle and youngest child took ballet for well over a decade. Still adore ballet. I have helped with Nutcracker countless years and it was really amazing. It was so fun.

Speaker 1:

I also love all kinds of books. As a librarian that's probably given I mostly gravitate towards fantasy, sometimes sci-fi. I do also enjoy realistic fiction, which is what I'm currently trying to read right now for my library job for Reader's Advisory. My favorite author of all time is Danielle Steele. That's not a teen author, but she is fantastic. I also really love Diana Davanovic and her Stephanie Plum series. My favorite author, I think, for teen fantasy really is Julie Kagawa. Julie Kagawa is just so fantastic. I first started with her Iron Fairy series. I'm telling you, it is just amazing. I also recently have really just been getting into the Evans family and their books that they've put out. I'm currently working on Fervent by Priscilla Shire and it's just really helping me define my Christian faith better. So I love reading.

Speaker 1:

I love dancing. I took ballroom dancing for a few years. I was in drill team during high school and did all kinds of jazz dance, also did color guard in high school, which is basically dancing with a flag. I was the captain for two years. Absolutely adored it. Um, and then I mean I'm, you know, your typical geek. I love Dungeons and Dragons. I really learned a lot about Dungeons and Dragons and began learning how to be a dungeon master when I took over our teen Dungeons and Dragons program here at the library. One of the best channels, in my opinion, on YouTube is Legends of Adventress. That's where I really learned some tips and tricks of how to be a dungeon master. Their series is so great.

Speaker 1:

I also love playing board games. Apparently, that seems to be a librarian thing to do. We love to get together and play board games. Unstable Unicorns is one of my favorites. I also really love Sheriff of Nottingham. I love this new game that I recently discovered called Throw, throw Burrito. It's hysterical. Also, cards Against Humanity Family Edition. I played that with my best friend and his mother. It was so funny, one of the best nights that I've ever had. Um, so I I am all about board games. We would go down to a local brewery and they would have all kinds of board games and we would load up on some nachos and fantastic local beer and play board games, and I tell you it's just a good time.

Speaker 1:

Other hobbies that I have, I mean, obviously I'm an art teacher, so I adore drawing, painting, crafts. I grew up with my mother always having us do crafts. She was very, very good at crafts and so I love getting into that kind of stuff. I love making things. I love learning the process of making different things. Um, like, art, stuff is really one of my biggest niches, for sure.

Speaker 1:
